Rule B.12: Conference Papers

Return to Red Rules

The Bluebook does not provide clear guidance on conference papers. Per this rule, conference papers should be cited with both the author’s name and paper title in ordinary Roman type. The paper title should be followed with a parenthetical detailing the name of the conference and the year the conference was held. A URL should be appended to the citation to direct the reader to the source.
